MacMenuBar.com, is an indispensable resource in my opinion - a website specializing in enhancements for the menu bar.

Ice from the jordanbaird/Ice repository is not real open-source, but it is it is fully macOS native (Swift) and easily installed using Brew. has not yet implemented the feature to display items in a separate bar, but it is planned for future development. Finally, in June 2024, from v0.10.2, it received the option to display hidden items in a separate bar (e.g. for MacBooks with the notch), making it my absolute favorite.
iBar was undoubtedly the best one, until Ice progressed and overtook him.
I found another one, Barbee - Hide Menu Bar Items on the Mac App Store, which received mixed reviews, but I didn’t find it bad at all. However, it lacks documentation and has a widget-like function that I don’t understand. It is very affordable for a lifetime purchase, so I consider it practically free.
